Reverend Doctor D’Andre J. Cross, Sr., was born on December 8, 1986 to Kimberly R. Cross-Brent and Rev. Ronald C. Young. He made a personal profession of faith in Christ as Savior and Lord, and was baptized at the age of eight (8) by his father, Pastor Ronald C. Young at the St. Joseph Baptist Church.

Dr. Cross received an Associate of Theology, Bachelor of Music Ministry and a Bachelor of Theology degree from Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida, a Master of Theology degree from Lake Charles Bible College in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and an earned Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Leadership from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia. Dr. Cross also received certification in Expository Preaching from the E. K. Bailey International Expository Preaching Conference.

Prior to his pastorate, Dr. Cross served faithfully as the Minister of Music of the St. Joseph Baptist Church of Franklin, La for four (4) years, Director of Music, Prayer Coordinator and Youth Pastor of the Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church: “One Dynamic Church in Three Powerful Locations”. He was Licensed and Ordained into the Gospel ministry by Pastor Allen R. Randle, Sr. Under Pastor Randle’s leadership, Dr. Cross was introduced to Expository Preaching thus sealing the deal for him that Biblical Exposition was the right way to handle the Word of God. 

On June 4, 2013, St. John Baptist Church of Belle Place, Louisiana, ended a brief search for a pastor when the church called Rev. D’Andre J. Cross as pastor. He prayerfully accepted God's call to be the next shepherd to lead St. John; a church that’s Renewing Minds & Transforming Lives with the Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Cross currently serves as the President of the Union Sixth District Missionary Baptist Association’s Congress of Christian Education, Dean of the Young Preachers Missionary Baptist Association’s Congress of Christian Education, member of the planning and teaching team for the Glory to Glory Youth, Young Adult, & Leadership Conference, and  Executive Board Member of Agape Community Services.

Dr. Cross is married to the lovely Johnise Monique Cross. They have two beautiful daughters, Chasmine Renee & Dyllan Amayah and one son, D’Andre Jamel Cross, II.

Dr. Cross is fulfilling his life’s mission through D. J. Cross Ministries; where his personal mission is to Encourage, Empower, Equip, & Inspire believers to live victoriously in Christ Jesus.
